LO5: Evaluation

I have studied different photographers, their genres and the techniques that they us to create their photos. A couple of the photographers that I chose to study were James Grant and Vladimir Rys. I chose these two as they both take photos in fields that interest me the most; Landscape and Sports photography. I also wanted to use these genres in my one photography that I would go on and take further down the line.

The techniques that I used to alter my images I tended to keep the same. I always changed the brightness and contrast levels as this brings out the best in the photos and makes them more desirable and visually pleasing. I also used colour tools like changing parts of the image to monochrome or enhancing certain colours to make them brighter.

I have used a variety of shutter speeds ranging from very quick to very slow (1/1000th of a second  - 20 seconds). The ISO levels that I used in my photos varied depending on the amount of light available in the location. It also depended whether I was taking the photos outside or inside.

The improvements that I would make to my photos would be to make sure they are aligned straight and level, giving them a more professional look. I would also change the levels in the monochrome parts of my photos more so that I would have a bigger variety of black and white colour.
